While most of the students at our area high schools are taking trips, and relaxing on spring break, all of the baseball and softball players are right here on the South Plains, getting prepared or starting district play.

The Cooper Pirates were out in Midland taking on the Midland Christian Mustangs Monday Night.

In the bottom of the first with no one out Garrett Clark stole third, but Stanton throw went in to left field, allowing a run to score to make it 1-0 Midland, they would get two in the inning to make it a 2-0 Ballgame.

In the top of the second though, Chase Freeman blasted one to centerfield to help the Pirates knot the game with his 2-rbi single.

But Midland Christian would erupt for 11 runs as they top the Pirates 11-5. Cooper gets back in action Thursday at Lubbock Christian at 6:00pm.
