Cooper, Idalou Fall in State Semifinals

Two local baseball teams were one win away from the state championship game down in Austin, Texas. The Cooper Pirates were making their second consecutive trip to the 3A state semifinal. In 2A, the Idalou Wildcats made history as the first team from the school to make it to the tournament. Two different stories shared the same outcome.

Unfortunately both teams were knocked out in the semifinals. Idalou fell to Troy 9-4, while Cooper lost to College Station, 9-8 in extra innings. Idalou finishes the season 32-6. Cooper wraps up the season at 20-19.
