Week seven gets an early start this Thursday night with the Coronado Mustangs needing to pretty much win out to be able to make their way into the playoffs.

Thursday night, they were taking on an Abilene High Team in the same situation, and it was a thriller.

In the 1st quarter Abilene high striking first, that’s Derek Scott to Trey Dennis for the Eagle touchdown that makes it 7-0.

On the ensuing drive, freshman, Christian, showed off his arm and Robert Lee Broke a few tackles deep into Eagle territory.

A few plays later, Hays used his legs and put on the spin move and he gets in to get within one at 7-6.

After Abilene High took the 14-6 lead, Hays went up top to Brandon Sherlin and he gets behind everyone and is in for the touchdown.

But Abilene High kept the pedal down when Scott hit Dennis again and the Eagles lead 21-12.

But Hays showed how dynamic he was as he kept it on the ground again and took in for the score to make it 21-19.

And then they would take the lead on this short pass to Sherlin to make it 26-21.
