It was win or go home for the Coronado Lady Mustangs make their first ever appearance at the 5A state tournament.

They met Deer Park in the 5A State Semi-Final.

Top of the first Deer Park jumped out to an early lead when Caitlin Plocheck launched a 3-run homer over the left field wall giving them a 3-0 lead in the first.

In the bottom of the sixth, Coronado got on the board as Kaitlynn Dawson hit a bomb into the parking lot in left center; Coronado cut the score to 6-1.

But too little, too late as Deer Park put an end to the Lady Mustangs' historic season with a 6-1 loss.
