Well STAAR Testing has the number of games limited this week at the high school level but we had some baseball and softball in district 2-3A Tuesday Night as Estacado visited Cooper.

Cooper atop the district with a 3-0 record trying to stave off 2-1 estacado...

In the top of the 2nd, The Matadors Ryan Carrillo ripped one to deep left center allowing Matthew Flores and Eduardo Espinoza, and the mats took the 2-0 lead.

In the 4th, Zak Odom got a strikeout, Ryan Morgan threw down, while the Estacado runner broke for home. Braden McCook threw back home to get Flores, and that got the Pirates out of the inning.

In the bottom of the frame after a Chase Freeman double, Mason Giles drives him in with the sac fly, to cut the lead in half at 2-1.

But the Matadors tacked on more runs and keep the Pirates at bay as they got the big 7-1 win to move to 3-1 in district play.
