Lubbock, Texas - As a young girl, Lubbock native, Katelyn Rhodes had aspirations divergent from the norm. Her goal was to become a professional soccer player. Unfortunately, the fact remained that most soccer talent from Lubbock was overlooked. Although a lofty aspiration, she didn't allow the geographical challenges of west Texas to keep her from accomplishing her dreams.

Katelyn completed a stellar career at Coronado high school, capped off by a senior season in which she earned 2008 District 2-5A Offensive Player of the Year. The following year she proved doubters wrong by earning a scholarship to play soccer at the University of Houston. She took advantage of that opportunity by earning a spot on the 2010 All-Conference USA First Team.

Then she proved detractors wrong once more, after earning a spot with the WPSL's Houston Aces for the past two seasons. This past weekend the Aces won the South Regional Tournament and will move on to face the CFC Passion on Saturday in their second straight Final Four.

However, Katelyn's career reached its paramount thus far when she signed her second professional contract with the Amazon Grimstad based in Norway, and leaves for Norway on July 30th.
