The Monterey Plainsmen football will have a first year coach next season and all signs point to it being former Stamford head football coach Wayne Hutchinson.

We reached out to him, and he said he was not able to discuss his status, but said he was on his way to Lubbock. Hutchinson led the state titles to the last two classes and a division one state championship while making it to the finals during the 2011 season. An official announcement is expected from Lubbock ISD tomorrow at 7 a.m. We will have all the reaction for you tomorrow when everything becomes official.
