The Cooper Pirates and Lubbock Christian Eagles met last week at Cooper and saw the Pirates walk off with a 3-2 victory but tonight they were at Eagle Field for the rematch.

Cooper with one final tune up before district play starts but Eagles with a strong outing from Ricky Contreras. He was in full control early on getting Jordan Salas looking for a scoreless top of the first inning.

Then the Eagles were at the dish and Tate Ellison ripped one through the left side to plate Landon Morgan to put the eagles on top 1-0.

Bottom of the second now, Contreras helped his own cause with the rip back up the middle. One run came home but Stephen Pagendorm was out at the plate on a great relay by the Pirates. The Eagles still held the lead 2-0.

That would be plenty with Contreras on the hill this evening as Lubbock Christian takes the rematch by a final of 6-3
