LCU Baseball Looks to Reload Headed into Next Season

LUBBOCK, TX - LCU graduated 12 seniors from a team that went 38-16 and won the Heartland Conference regular season title.

The Chaps are trying to replace what was lost and welcomed a couple of new players to the team recently. Former Lubbock Cooper Pirate and Oregon State Beaver Scotland Church transferred to the program.

He is joined by Eddy Vasquez from New Mexico Junior College, Andrew Pratt from the University of New Mexico and Andres Negron from Jefferson College.

Coach Nathan Blackwood said heading into next year the pitching rotation should not be an issue but the lineup has some holes,

"we are really concerned about the number of bats we have to replace pretty much every defensive starter was a senior this year so we knew it was going to be a tough recruiting year for us but really pleased at the way it has come together".
