It is playoff time on the South Plains and action today means the rubber match for several of our teams.

But Monterey would be going for the sweep of Dumas. The plainsmen were off yesterday but came into game two off of a 20-2 thrashing of the Demons in game one.

In the bottom of the second, Monterey was leading 1-0. With runners in scoring position, Hunter Spaeth drove them in with a double out to right field. Zac Sanders and Jake Hohenberger scored t make it 3-0 Monterey.

Later that same inning it would be the same play but with different players with another 2 RBI double, this one by Sam Swindle to put the Plainsmen up 5-0.

On their way to a 13-1 win as Monterey advanced to the next round sweeping Dumas.
