Monterey Explodes on Hereford in District Opener, 30-4

District 4-4A Baseball teams began district play tonight and we start with the Monterey Plainsmen hosting the Hereford Whitefaces.

Hereford was down 8-0 in the bottom of the first. When Jake Hohenberger would added insult to injury with a rip down the 3rd baseline for the double, that brought home Branson Hall to give Monterey the 9-0 lead.

The next batter, Evan Brake connected, Hereford couldn’t get to it, And that would brings home Jake Hohenberger to make it 10-0 Plainsmen.

Same inning, Sam Swindle got a ball in the dirt, Hereford tried to make a play but would get by third and in to left allowing Brake for the 11-0 lead.

It was that kind of night for Monterey, everything was working as they open district play with a 30-4 win.
