Former South Plains star Yanick Moreria is a part of one of the best basketball stories of the year, as the SMU Mustangs are making waves under Larry Brown. Hes just the latest Texan to make a splash in major college basketball and as for the team back home, its business as usual.

The Texans now the No. 1 team in the NJCAA taking on Midland College tonight.

Early in the game, off a missed shot by South Plains, Midland came down with the rebound only to have it ripped away by Sekou Harris and Emmanuel Emobgo finished with the dunk, 7-4 South Plains.

The high-flying action would continue from the Texans, BillyDee Williams dished to Roderick Lawrence who finished with a dunk as part of his 18 points. South Plains led 9-4 at that point.

Midland hung around though as Darren Williams fed Kevin Thomas who hit the baseline jumper to pull the Chaps within three at 9-6.

But too much BillyDee Williams as he drained a three which was part of an 11-0 run and the Texans would roll, 94-50.
