No. 2 Frenship Gets past No. 22 Monterey in Game 1, 5-3

Second-ranked Frenship opened their series with 22nd ranked Monterey with a 5-3 victory at Moegle Field.

Monterey was down 4-0 in the bottom of the 3rd, until Blake Walden ripped one up the middle that brought in two Plainsmen runs and they cut the deficit in half its now 4-2.

Jay Rawlins would settle down on the mound for the Tigers and got a strikeout to end the fourth with the Tigers still leading 4-2.

In the 5th, Brett Hinson ripped one through the infield to plate another Tiger run and that would be plenty, as the Tigers took game one by a final of 5-3. Game two of this series will be on Friday at 7 with game 3 set for Saturday at 1:00pm.
