The fifth ranked Idalou Wildcats have steamrolled through the playoffs so far, outscoring opponents 71-1.

However today they faced possibly their most evenly matched opponent in No. 3 Holliday.

In the top of the 2nd, Logan Allen tripled to score Chase Duncan, 4-0 Holliday

Then Darby Thorton gunned down a runner trying to steal second base to keep him out of scoring position. The score remained 4-0.

Later in the bottom of the third, Holliday led 4-1 when Idalou was threatening. Kleat Smith ripped one out to right field but it was caught by Duncan.

The Wildcats lose 7-3 in game one. Game two is set for noon, Saturday in Sweetwater.
