No. 7 Idalou Uses 7 Runs to Take Care of Slaton

Well the Idalou Wildcats are up to No. 7 in the state sitting at a perfect 4-0 in district play trying to improve on that this afternoon.

The Wildcats hosted the Slaton Tigers who are 2-2 in district play.

In the top of the second, there was a runner on first and second with one out for Slaton's Justin Buxkemper when he laid down the sacrifice bunt to move both runners into scoring position.

Idalou’s Hayden Davey would walk the next batter to load the bases but would work his way out of the jam striking out Ryan Escobar to get out of the inning.

In the bottom of the second, another sac bunt but this one would come from Bean Howard. Zach Sperry had a good jump on it allowing him to slide in safe for the first run on the board, Wildcats up 1-0.

Later in the bottom of the third, Darby Thornton laced one through to left fiel allowing Joey Ybarra to score followed by Branum Stephens, and Thornton would slide in safe at third for a 2 RBI triple and a 3-0 lead.

Idalou wins it by a final of 7-1.
