With Michael Brewer out, that leaves three healthy quarterbacks to take the reps in practice. True freshman Davis Webb and walk-on Baker Mayfield along with redshirt freshman Clayton Nicholas.

Kliff said that two quarterbacks are taking a majority of the first team reps and all indications are that they are being shared between Webb and Mayfield. While Mayfield might be a walk-on, he has been on several of these coaches radar's for a long time.

So just who exactly is this guy? Well coach Kingsbury sung his praises for an outstanding high school career but here are some numbers:

He went 25-2 in two years as a starter including the 2011 state championship.

In his career he threw for almost 6,500, tossing 67 touchdowns to only eight interceptions.

He turned down scholarships from Rice, New Mexico, Florida Atlantic and had his eye on TCU before they went in another direction.
