Pirates get Back on Track with 10-1 Win over Andrews

The Cooper Pirates had not lost a district game since 2011, until Tuesday when the Estacado Matadors beat them 7-1. The Pirates were in an unfamiliar spot, Saturday, and put the Andrews Mustangs in an uncomfortable spot.

Coach Baxter got his guys back on track this afternoon.

Cooper lead 8-1 in the 4th, when AJ Perez ripped a ball to deep left center Delane Estenson would score, as Perez slid into 3rd with a triple as cooper took the 9-1 lead.

The next batter, Justin Johnson lifted a ball high into the wind in left, which spelled trouble for the Mustangs as the ball fell in to score Perez, to make it 10-1 cooper.

That’s all they would need as Tanner Doucette got a strikeout to end the top of the 5th.

As the Pirates were all over the Mustangs this afternoon, as they got back on the winning track with a 10-1 victory.
