The Texas Tech Red Raiders had to wait almost two in a half-hours because of the Wind and Dust blowing in to Lubbock, but created a storm with their bats beating SFA 20-4.
Matthew Dickey took Matt Withrow’s first offering of the game into right field, and would come around and score to put SFA on top 1-0 in the first. But when Tech came to bat they set the tone for the rest of the game as Alec Humpreys ripped a ball off the bullpen in right to plate two Red Raiders and give them the 3-1 lead, they would get five in the inning to lead 5-1.
The Red Raiders led 7-3 going to the bottom of the 6th when they blew the doors off the Lumberjacks with an 11 run inning, their most in one inning since 2007.
Stephen Smith led the way with five hits, the most by a Red Raider since 2011, as Tech collected 17 hits on their way to 20 runs and a blowout win over SFA. Tech gets back in action against SFA tomorrow at 2:00pm in the series finale.
