It’s been nearly seven months since the Red Raiders Upset the 14th ranked Sun Devils in the Holiday Bowl.

But the result of that win has had long lasting effects on this Red Raider football team as they prepare to open camp next week.

“"I think so, I think, without a doubt, if you end on a winning note,” head coach Kliff Kingsbury said. “In a big time game it carries over to recruiting, it carries over to spring ball and you gain a lot of confidence from it.

The win was especially huge for coach Kingsbury and his team as they had not won a game in two month prior to the Holiday Bowl win.

“Especially in a situation like we where,” Kingsbury said. “We'd lost five in a row, you know, you can beat a top 15 team and thats all everyone wants to talk about, after the season which has been positive for our program."

The Red Raiders begin practice on August 4th and open the season on August 30th, at home, against Central Arkansas.
