The Red Raiders opened up the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic with a doubleheader on Thursday.

First up was UT-Arlington and the Red Raiders brought the offense, leading 5-1 in the bottom of the 6th inning.

With one on and one away for Sydnie Tapia she hit a popout to second but a subsequent throw to third base went wide allowing Samantha Comello a pass to home for run number six.

In the same inning, Sydni Emanuel would steal second to get into scoring position but it wouldn't matter what base she was on. Kristi Belshe would rake her in with a 2-run bomb to left field. Tech took an 8-1 leas over the Mavericks and that would end up being the final score.

The Red Raiders would win the second game against Northern Colorado, 6-1 completing the doubleheader sweep.
