Coach Maxfield hopes to continue the Mustangs winning tradition this year, after reaching the 3A Division II regional finals last season. However, with only one starter returning on either side of the ball, they will have to reload quickly. Shallowater will drop down a classification this season by remaining in Class 3A. Even though, Coach Maxfield will replace twenty-one total starters from last year's squad, they won't be without some Friday night experience. The offense will be led by Junior Running Back, Cooper Ogle (289 yards, 4 TDs rushing) and Junior Quarterback, Chris Contreras. The defense will be led by the lone returning starter from last year's group, Defensive Back, Bryan Hall (26 tackles, 3 INTs, 3 FRs). With a competitive district lineup, his inexperienced team will need to learn quickly.
