Slaton Takes Game One Over Littlefield

Tonight was the start of the area round for a couple of area baseball teams including Slaton and Littlefield who met up over in Sundown.

Game one of their three game series and it was Nate Guerra who got things going for the Slaton Tigers in the bottom of the first, hitting a chopper to second that would score Justin Escobar to put Slaton up 1-0.

In the bottom of the second inning, Littlefield's Nate Herrera got Ryan Escobar swinging to strikeout the side.

Heading to the third and Abe Jaramillo struck out the side as well, whiffing all three batters to preserve the 1-0 Tiger lead.

They would extend it in the bottom of the third. Guerra was at it again crushing one over the wall in right field for a 3-run shot to give the Tigers a 4-0 lead.

They take game one, 9-3. Game two of this series is back out at sundown on Saturday. First pitch set for 3 p.m.
