Check in with the Petersburg Buffaloes in District 2-1A, Jacob Popham will lead the team in his first year as head coach after taking on the position this past July.

Petersburg will be a young team after only returning three players on either side of the ball. However, the offense will be in good hands with Preseason District 2-1A Offensive MVP Brett Labadie at the helm.

"I think we'll fir pretty well,” said Popham, Petersburg head coach. “Our schedule is set up to be competitive but it’s not unachievable. We're going to have to work, we've got some young kids that are going to have to step up and fill some roles pretty quick but I think we're going to fair pretty well."

"Last year we graduated a couple of seniors,” said Labadie, quarterback, “So, this year I'm going to have to step it up pretty big and lead this team we've got a lot of young kids, so it is going to be some work but I’m ready for it."

"This team, we're young but we have speed and we're ready to learn,” said Marcos Hinojos, safety. “We connect well and we don't have bad attitudes. We're ready to work hard with each other, just chemistry wise we're pretty well with each other."
