South Plains head basketball coach Steve Green got his 500th win on Monday night against New Mexico Military Institute. His Texans were trying to win out and clinch at least a share of the Western Division title taking on Frank Phillips College this evening out at the Texan Dome.

The Texans jump out to a quick six-point lead when Michael Karena worked hard down low, making the spin and getting the nice roll for the 10-2 lead.

Later Franklin fighting back with a dish to Stan Whittaker for the open layup, 16-8 Texans still led.

Then, Malik Nichols missed a shot but the ball remained with the Texans; getting into the hands of Roderick Lawrence who drove the open lane, getting the easy lay-in to extend the Texans lead.

The guys would go up 24-17 midway through the first half, on their way to a 78-64 win.
