Tech Comes up just short against No. 8 Kansas

The Red Raider Basketball team was literally a second away from toppling their 3rd top 25 in the Big 12 this season, before falling 64-63.

Kansas looked like they were going to run away and hide early leading by as much as 10 in the first half but the Red Raiders came storming back thanks to some hot shooting, and pulled within one at the half 30-29.

The dunk contest between the football team kept the crowd riled up for a wild second half, as the two teams traded blows for much of the 2nd Texas Tech was able to stretch the lead to as much as five in the 2nd, but could never get any further away than that.

With just under three minutes to play, Jordan Tolbert gave Tech a four point lead and they looked to be in good shape until Wayne Selden hit a three that gave momentum back to Kansas.

The Red Raiders took a one point lead after a pair of Robert Turner free throws with 13 seconds to play, when Joel Embiid lost control of the ball and Andrew Wiggins was there for the easy lay-in to put the nail in the Coffin for the Red Raiders.

Texas Tech struggled with foul trouble all night but got five players in double figures led by Jordan Tolbert with 16 points. Next up the Red Raiders head to Stillwater where they will face the return of Marcus Smart, that game tips at 12:30 on Saturday.
