The Dallas Cowboys were the worst Defense in the NFL in 2013 and ranked 24th rushing yards allowed and 25th in sacks.

This offseason they have done their best to address that need bringing in Henry Melton, drafting DeMarcus Lawrence and signing 8 year veteran Jeremy Mincey.

With Lawrence going down earlier this week, that forces Mincey into a bigger role at Defensive end.

"Going into free agency they actually reached out to my agent,” Mincey said. “I mean it's a great organization.”

Mincey has 20 career sacks in his 8 years as a pro spending most of those eight years with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but has been a life-long Cowboys fan.

“I always grew up a cowboy fan,” Mincey said. “You know, I went to the University of Florida because of Emmitt Smith and he was a Cowboy so, I mean, It all makes sense. I might as well come out here and give my all, going into the 9th year of my career and just do what I gotta do, to be a Cowboy."

The Cowboys will hold their Blue-and-White scrimmage tomorrow afternoon in Oxnard, and will open the preseason in San Diego against the Chargers on Thursday.
