Texas Tech football players report to fall camp on Friday afternoon, where the quarterback battle will commence and coach Kliff Kingsbury said on Tuesday that he hopes to have a starter named by the second scrimmage. One comfort that starter will have though is wide receiver Eric Ward.

Ward turned down a chance at the NFL this off season to improve his stock with one more year at Texas Tech. Last year Ward led the team in receiving yards and was second in touchdowns behind Darrin Moore. He is a also a member of the preseason All-Big 12 team, so, it was a tough decision to stay or go. However he said he is happy to be back and playing for Coach Kingsbury.
