Red Raiders Claim Big 12 Outdoor Title

The 2014 Big 12 Track and Field Championships, the No. 6 Red Raiders won the men’s team title with 160.5 points. The Lady Raiders finished third with 109.5 points –their best finish since 2009 where they finished runner-up at the Fuller Track and Field Complex.
·         The Red Raiders win their second Big 12 men’s championship in program history – their first coming in 2005.
·         Tech is the first Big 12 program to win a Big Team Championship on its home track since Colorado did so in 2008.
·         Red Raider Kole Weldon was honored as the men’s High Point scorer after scoring 24 points between shot put, hammer and discus.
·         Tech’s 160.5 points are the most scored by the team in school history at the conference meet – topping the 149.5 points from Tech’s 2005 Big 12 Championship in Manhattan, Kan.
