Texas Tech Baseball Enters Postseason Ranked 23rd in the Nation

LUBBOCK, Texas –
Texas Tech (40-18) enters the NCAA Tournament this weekend with a pair of No. 23 national rankings, which gives the Red Raiders 15 consecutive national rankings spanning the entire 2014 season.
Texas Tech was tabbed No. 23 in the USA Today Coaches’ poll and was also ranked 23rd in the country by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association.
After two games at the Big 12 Championship, Tech received its 11th national ranking during the last 12 weeks by the Coaches’ poll.
For the 15th straight week, including every week of the regular season, the Red Raiders are among the top-30 in the country according to the NCBWA poll. Tech’s highest ranking in the poll this season came at No. 21 on Apr. 28.
Overall, with each ranking during the season, Texas Tech has received 37 national rankings from Baseball America (2), NCBWA (15), Collegiate Baseball (7), USA Today Coaches’ (11) and Perfect Game (2).
Second-seeded Texas Tech will play its first NCAA Tournament game in a decade on Friday, May 30 at 1 p.m. CT in the Coral Gables Regional against third-seeded Columbia (29-18) at Alex Rodriguez Park – Mark Light Field in Coral Gables, Fla.
