Texas Tech Baseball Defeats Ohio State

Texas Tech overcame an early 2-0 and improved to 12-2 in midweek games with Wednesday's 5-3 win over Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.

The sixth-ranked Red Raiders tied the game in the fourth inning on Cody Farhat's double that scored Michael Berglund.  The freshman catcher was 3 for 4 with a run scored and run batted in.

Texas Tech plated the go-ahead run in the fifth inning on a Josh Jung ground out to third that allowed Grant Little to score.

Orlando Garcia would add an insurance run in the eighth inning with a RBI single to center that scored Hunter Hargrove.  The Big 12 player of the week was 2 for 3 at the plate and scored two runs in the win.

Ohio State would score one in the bottom of the eighth inning but Parker Mushinski would come in to strike out Tre' Gant with a runner on third base to end the inning.

Texas Tech (37-12, 11-7) resumes Big 12 play at 5:30 p.m. Friday against West Virginia in Morgantown.
