LUBBOCK, TX - The Texas Tech football program signed six prospects to financial aid agreements Wednesday, head coach Kliff Kingsbury announced as part of mid-year signing day.
The six commitments will join a class of freshmen early enrollees who will arrive in Lubbock beginning in January. Tech will formally announce its freshmen mid-year enrollees at the start of the spring semester.
“We are excited about all our mid-year signees,” Kingsbury said. “We believe this group will provide us great depth as we move into the spring. I anticipate us having a very competitive spring semester.”
The large class of mid-year enrollees allows Tech to begin spring practices with 70-plus scholarship players already on campus, its largest number during Kingsbury’s tenure. The mid-year class consists of quarterback McLane Carter, defensive backs Vaughnte Dorsey, Jaylon Lane and Octavious Morgan, offensive lineman Jacob Hines as well as linebacker Tony Jones.
