This cold blast has taken its toll on the high school football playoffs, with postponements taking place all over the South Plains, but some teams were able to play on Friday night, like Wall and Idalou playing in Midland.

Winner of this game gets the winner of Bushland and Clyde, on Saturday. After both teams were held scoreless in the first half Wall exploded in the 2nd quarter, as Kris Gutierrez got things started with a 39 yard run,  and Luke Dacy, capped off the drive with a two yard touchdown run that made it 7-0. Things would not get much better from there for the Wildcats as Clint Masters of Wall took one in from three yards out to make it 13-0. Idalou led it 21-0 at the half, and the Wildcats made it a game in the 2nd half but would ultimately be eliminated 35-14.
