Lubbock High Losses Opener to Sweetwater

Every Friday night for the next 13- weeks we will be bringing you the best highlights from games around the South Plains. There is plenty of change around high school football. In 2014, there are new districts, new 6-A classifications and some new coaches on the South Plains.

The Lubbock High Westerners was in Sammy Baugh Classic tonight in Sweetwater and this game got off to a big start for the Mustangs. On the opening kick off Isaiah McGee got the ball at about the 10 and he took delivered.

On the very next play the QB Kaegan Jeffrey looked down the field but hands the ball to Jacob Hunt who gave the mustangs their first of many scores in this game.

Later in the first quarter after Lubbock scored and the score is 8-7. The mustangs answered like as Jeffrey took the snap and looked long for Michael Lawrence who made the catch in the end zone and then made sure to keep his feet in bounds.  Mustangs went for two again and made it 16-7 Sweetwater would go on to dominate Lubbock high 60-21.
