The Red Raiders will get back to practice on Wednesday and have 18 days until they suit it up against the Sun Devils. By that time we will have new State Champions at all levels of the high school ranks, weather permitting of course.
One team trying to take the next step towards AT&T Stadium, the New Deal Lions, as they took on the Stamford Bulldogs.
In the 1st quarter New Deal had the ball Baylor Bean gave it to VJ Gamez who as able to get enough for the first down.
But a few plays later Bean was intercepted by James Washington inside Bulldogs five-yard line and ran it back about 30 yards.
Then Washington would show his ability on the offensive side of the ball by showing some shifty moves to get a first down and then a couple of plays later and they would cash in with a Washington touchdown, to make it 7-0 Bulldogs.
The Lions would make it close but Stamford would score with under a minute to play, and they would upend the lions with a 29-26 victory.
