Every Friday night for the next 13- weeks we will be bringing you the best highlights from games around the South Plains. There is plenty of change around high school football. In 2014, there are new districts, new 6-A classifications and some new coaches on the South Plains.

So we start right there with the Monterey Plainsmen who welcomed in Wayne Hutchinson as their new head coach. They tried to take his incredible success at Stamford to 50th and Indiana.

Coach Hutchsinson's first game was in Odessa tonight against the Broncos.

1st quarter, Odessa High running back Sebastian Galindo made people miss for a 40 yard touchdown run. Broncos went up 7-0.

On the ensuing kickoff, Monterey’s Branson Hall muffed the kickoff and the Broncos fell on it.

It would prove costly. Two plays later Galindo, a one yard rushing touchdown would put the Broncos on top 14-0.

Plainsmen tried to get something going later and Vincent Johnson cut back to the outside 40 yard run.

The plainsmen will travel to Hereford next Friday night.
