Yesterday the UIL announced their new districts for the State of Texas and we saw the Lubbock ISD schools split into three different districts.

Monterey and Coronado will play together in 3-6a, while Lubbock high will play in district 4-5A, with the Cooper Pirates, who were 2-3A rivals with the Estacado Matadors who are now in district 1-4A. Match-ups like Cooper and Estacado, and the ‘Spurs Game’ like, Lubbock and Monterey will have to be scheduled in the non-district portion of the schedule. So while some of those games will be preserved, some might have to go onto the back burner, or have some tweaks made to them.
