After Christmas Shopping Season

The day after Christmas. Many people take advantage of the time to spend their gift cards and even for some exchange and return some gifts.

LUBBOCK, TX---The day after Christmas. 
Many people take advantage of the time to spend their gift cards and even for some exchange and return some gifts.

Whether it was the shorter Christmas shopping season or good planning... 
Lots of people hit up the South Plains Mall today... All cashing in on gift cards or exchanging those few gifts that didn't work. 

"We're just exchanging and returning stuff people deviated form the Christmas list and {{look at sales}} and we're returning and exchanging for what we wanted." 

"We had to go to a couple of places. Dillards was actually out of polo long sleeve shirts. That's one of the things i had to reutrn and they were completely out." 

But many shoppers we talked to today... Its all about the gift cards. 

"Gift cards ans what not. I already used a gift card i got so.. taking advantage of it" 

"I got a couple gift cards so im definitely goign to use them." 

Ashley Knox, the marketing manager with South Plains Mall says these gift cards come at great time... 
When many stores... Start their end of year sales. 

"And almost every store will have some specials going on right now. So a great way to use those gift cards maybe you have some christmas money. 
Come out go shopping and just enjoy yourself. We're seeing a lot of families come out and just enjoy the after holiday sales. Which will go on through the new year." 

Lots of stores even here at the South Plains Mall are starting their after Christmas sales which will go on through the new year. In addition lots of stores are having no hassle return policies all just try to to get people in. So if you didn't get exacly what you wanted its not too late to return them. 

The South Plains Mall has extended hours on many days leading up to the new year.
