AQHA Asks Judge for Delay in Registering Clones Horses

Citing cost and pending appeals, the AQHA is asking a federal judge to allow them more time before they begin registering cloned horses.
(AMARILLO, TX) - Citing cost and pending appeals, the AQHA is asking a federal judge to allow them more time before they begin registering cloned horses.

In court documents, the AQHA says upgrading their filing system will cost in excess of $100,000.  They also claim that if the U.S. District Court's decision is overturned in appeals, they would have to revert back to the old filing system and recall all issued registration numbers to cloned horses.

AQHA says they discovered the cost of the changes after beginning to implement the actions ordered by the court following a lawsuit back in July.
