LUBBOCK, TX --

Auto service centers were slammed with business Wednesday, as holiday travelers prepped their cars before hitting the road on the busiest day for Thanksgiving travel, according to AAA.

Desiree Prichard and her dad, Mike, waited in line for nearly an hour at Bolton Oil Change to get her car checked out, before driving to San Angelo.

"You don't want to be on the holiday weekend and be stranded," said Prichard.

The line may have been long, but Mike Prichard said getting his daughter's car looked at is a necessary step in keeping her safe.

"We're going to get the car cleaned up and send her down the road," said Prichard.

Darrin Campbell, Bolton Oil Change General Manager, said the day before Thanksgiving has always been their busiest day of the year.

"Crazy day," said Campbell.  "Lots of people here, lots of travel.  It's imperative that they check their fluids, they check their tire pressure, just make sure it's good for the trip.
