LUBBOCK, TX -- Levelland ISD Superintendent Kelly Baggett will retire in June 2015 according to the Levelland and Hockley County News-Press. Baggett was named Superintendent in March of 2013. As both interim Superintendent and Superintendent, Baggett presided over a controversial proposal to allow teachers to carry concealed weapons. He also oversaw a $39.47 million bond package which voters approved in May of 2013. Baggett told the News-Press that he wanted to spend more time with his grandchildren.
