We are only four weeks into the season and the Coronado Mustangs are already in the thick of district play, falling to a very good San Angelo Central team, and now they have to turn right around and play Coach Todd Moebus' equally talented Abilene Cooper Cougars; a tall task down at Shotwell Stadium this evening.
In the first play of the 2nd quarter, Coronado tied the game up as Kameron Wilborn threw out to the right side and he was gone for 42 yards. We are all knotted up at 14.
Later in the 2nd, Lorenzo Joe fumbles the snap but he recovered and got the ball to Trey
Dye down field and he did the rest for the touchdown, 21-14 Cougars.
Coronado answered on their next possession with the reverse to the near side for the Mustangs, pat was no good so they pull within one, 21-20 Cooper.
Still the 2nd quarter, the game is tied again and Joe put Cooper back in front. He got some blocks and went in for the touchdown. The Cougars led 35-28 at halftime. Abilene Cooper won it 56-28 over the Mustangs.
