Costco Opens in Lubbock

Costco's Grand Opening began with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 7:30 am Friday November 15th before opening their doors at 8:00

Costco in Lubbock is now open for business.

You can find food, clothes, electronics, pretty much everything you could think of for your home, but Scott Huntington, General Manager, said people might also be surprised at the amount of fresh products they also offer.

"We have very successful meat, bakery, and deli and produce departments. We're very proud of our fresh departments."

There is a separate store connected to Costco where you can buy liquor but the wine and beer department inside can keep you well stocked.

"The wine department is a signature department for Costco. We change it up regularly but we also try to focus on the classics that folks will enjoy and be looking for all the time."

Costco has it's own in store brand, Kirkland, that offers quality products up to 30% less than national brands but they also carry many different brands so you can get the best deal on your favorite products.

"We look for value. So we're trying to offer the best possible quality at the lowest possible prices."

With less than two weeks before Thanksgiving, Costco has stocked its shelves with Thanksgiving dinner staples and also has Christmas decorations already on it's shelves.

"We're ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas and the full holiday season right now. We have all of our normal inline products plus quite a nice selection of seasonal items as well."

Costco does require a membership card with a standard membership costing 55 dollars a year or a cash back executive card that costs 110 dollars a year and they are all set to get hundreds of new members signed up.

"We'll have tables set up all day so that people can come out, hear what we have to offer, see what kind of programs we have and get them signed up right out front."

Costco is located at 6020 34th Street, 34th & the Loop.
