Councilman to Talk Lubbock Traffic Safety

Todd Klein wants to discuss how to make Lubbock roads safer in council meeting.
Lubbock councilman Todd Klein is placing a Work Session item on the Thursday, September 26th City Council Agenda to discuss traffic safety improvements in Lubbock.

The District 3 councilman says he is adding the item to the agenda after hearing from the community.

"Public safety is my number one priority," Klein says, "and I am requesting this item to begin an initiative as to what measures, any and all, can be taken to improve traffic safety in our community.  I have heard from numerous residents and private citizens, throughout our city, who have urged that more measures be taken to reduce reckless driving. Whether the cause is texting while driving, extremely loud car speakers, or discourteous aggressive driving, I believe more can be done to address this critical issue. I believe placing this item on the City Council Work Session is an important first step."

The Work Session item will be on the Thursday, September 26th City Council meeting.

Council meetings begin at 6:15 p.m. and are held at City Hall, 1625-13th Street.
