Two people have died and five others are in critical condition after a vehicle plowed into a crowd of people near a venue for the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas early this morning, police said.
Austin Police confirmed the accident online, stating that 23 people were transported to area hospitals.
The accident happened at Red River Street and East 10th Street. Photos taken at the scene show victims laying in the street, with emergency vehicles responding. The Austin-Travis County EMS also responded to the accident, according to ABC affiliate KVUE.
