Apple Dew Dumplings

<P>Market Street's Susan Short returned to the KLBK Cafe Thursday at Five, where she showed us the ropes to a ridiculously tasty (and easy) desert dish.</P>

Apple Dew Dumplings

2 Granny Smith Apples

2 Cans Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (dairy)

2 sticks butter

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

Cinnamon to taste

12 ounces of Mountain Dew

Peel and core apples.  Cut apples into 8 slices each.  Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll.  Place in a 9x13 buttered pan.  Melt butter, then add sugar and barely stir.  Add vanilla, stir, and pour over apples.  Pour Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan, and back through the middle.  Sprinkle with cinammon.  Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.  Serve on top of a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  Enjoy!
