“We are spending lots of money on research to find more water and develop more water wells,” Plant Superintendent Tim Walker said.
“The recreation is down because of the lake level, we no longer allow boats on the lake,”
No boats, means no money, and that drives water costs up.
But Tim Walker and his co-workers at the White River Lake Municipal Water District have a plan.
They are building an ATV park.
“An ATV park would bring more income mainly because we rely on recreation as a big part of our income,”
In order for the park to actually create revenue off of the lake they would have to let boats on the water, but right now that is not possible.
The district is partnering with
“It’s an 80/20 grant,”
The plan has met opposition, from four of the 30 full time residents of
“Right now they are concerned about being disturbed,”
