Body Found In Downtown Lubbock Garage, Man Arrested for Murder

One person is in police custody after what appeared to be a deadly beating. <span style="color: #ff0000;">UPDATED 7/23/14 5:56 pm</span>

LUBBOCK, TX -- Lubbock Police arrested Jestin Hooker, 27, on a charge of murder Wednesday morning. Late Wednesday afternoon the name of the victim, Steve Wallace, 61 was made public.

Lubbock police responded to the 1400 block of Texas Avenue around 2:30 Wednesday morning when someone called 911 after hearing a loud noise outside. When he opened the door, he found the body of Wallace.
Lubbock Police issued the following statement Wednesday afternoon:

On July 23, 2014 at 2:26 a.m. police responded to a disturbance at 1402 Texas Ave, Shackelford, Hawkins & Searcy, P.C. law offices. Officers found a male victim lying on the floor with traumatic injuries who was pronounced deceased by medical personnel. Three men, including the arrestee and the victim, claim the law offices as their residence. One of the roommates believed to have been in an altercation with the victim was taken into custody for questioning and arrested after further investigation into the death of Steve Wallace.
