Cierra White Finishes 8th in 200 at U.S. Championships

All-American Cierra White finishes second among collegians at US Championships

LUBBOCK, Texas –
Lady Raider All-American Cierra White finished eighth overall Sunday, and second among collegiate athletes, in the finals of the 200-meter dash at the U.S. Track and Field Championships.
White, who finished eighth in the event at the NCAA Championships earlier this month, crossed the finish line at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento with a time of 23.12 seconds. She advanced to Sunday’s finals after finishing second in her heat of the preliminaries with a time of 23.24 seconds.
Fellow collegian Mahagony Jones of Penn State, who finished fourth at the NCAA Championships in the event, finished fifth overall in 22.64 seconds. Jenbeba Tarmoh, running for Nike, took the national title with a time of 22.06 seconds.
A native of Philadelphia, Pa., White has earned NCAA All-America honors in both the 100-meters and 200-meters and as a member of the Lady Raider 4x400 relay indoors.
