LUBBOCK, TX -- A construction worker was the victim of a hit & run collision Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Woodrow Road and Highway 87.  The Texas Department of Public safety said a Dodge Avenger hit Tony Bourses, 44, of Lubbock and the driver did not stop.  Bourses was struck so hard that his head damaged the windshield of the car.  He was taken by EMS with “moderate” injuries.

Law enforcement officers in Lynn County found the car about a mile north Takoha and stopped the driver.  DPS later released her name publicly as Karla Torres, 34, of Lubbock.  She was arrested, according to DPS, on a charge of failure to stop and render aid.
