LUBBOCK, TX -- Severe weather in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area created travel problems in Lubbock late Thursday afternoon. Three arriving flights into Lubbock were delayed and one was canceled. Four flights departing Lubbock were delayed and one was canceled. The maligned schedules were related to both DFW Airport and Dallas Love Field.

The DFW area had been hit with straight line winds – so much so that debris was spotted in downtown Dallas. The weather was bad enough to ground flights in Dallas. DART Trains had to stop because of tornado warnings; tens of thousands were without power; and there were numerous reports of downed trees and downed power lines.
